S Corp TaxationThe form travels

Character is in the forms, and the forms travel. A drive does not move a dollar onto a different return.

Stay where you are

The city on the table is not the tax

The K-1 opens on whatever table the shareholder uses. El Paso and Texarkana do not get different federal forms because the coffee is different. We do not need you in a particular room to say whose return the profit belongs on.

The visit is a video call. You stay with the company. We stay with the forms. The books are shared so both of us are looking at the same month. A calendar link is how a longer conversation gets a time. It does not move a dollar onto a different return. The old pages on this address used the word cell for a box in a grid. The thing itself is just the right form.

December still has to tie

White Rock Lake is the long bend in the Dallas Marathon, and that race usually lands in December with both the start and the finish downtown. The last miles go quiet in a way every Texan who has stood near a long course recognizes. We know that wish to be finished, from our side of the same city. December still gets tied to the bank before a return is assembled, even when race weekend is the loudest week on the calendar.

We do not claim a bib, and we do not claim a view of the lake from a window of ours on that morning. The feeling is the shared one. The work is the close. A festive month is a bad month to invent numbers, because everyone is tired and the deposits are lumpy.

What to send from wherever you are

Send the K-1 if you have it, the W-2 if wages were paid, and the last Texas confirmation if the company files here. If one of those is missing, name the gap. A complete set is not a requirement for the first conversation. A pretended complete set is worse than a short one.

We will not ask you to drive the paper across the state. Scans are the record. The original can stay in your drawer. What matters is that the scan is the real form, not a summary someone typed from memory.
